In the associated resources on this page is a copy of a joint letter sent from the Department of Education, the Young People's Learning Agency (YPLA) and Partnerships for Schools (PfS).

The letter - issued to recipients of education and training funding on 18 January - explains about changes being made to the infrastructure for distributing funding from 1 April 2012.

The YPLA and PfS cease current activities at the end of March 2012.

The EFA will be a single body responsible for the operation of the education and training funding system for those aged 3 to 19. This will provide, over time, a more joined-up service for young people, our customers and partners.

Please note:
The letter refers to funding for the education and training of three to 19 year olds, or up to age 25 for learners with a disability.
We can confirm that some funding - the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) - to be distributed by the Education Funding Agency (EFA), can be used for disabled children from birth.
