In 2011-12 the former CWDC worked across England to increase the capacity and capability of all potential providers in delivering and resourcing the City and Guilds Level 4 Award (Intense support to families with multiple and complex needs).
This was achieved in a number of ways including:
- One day training workshops for strategic staff
- A full train the trainer course.
To support this examples from various areas and organisations were collected. These examples provide diverse sustainable approaches to delivering and resourcing the Work with Parents qualifications. They will be of use to organisations and areas who are devising their own training strategies to deliver the qualification.
The first four exemplars are:
- A partnership approach
- A private company with a community spirit
- A national charity's approach
- Bold in the face of change
The DfE would like to thank Hull City Council Adult Education, Karmal Associates, School Home Support and The Isle of Wight Council for sharing their approaches.
