In September 2011 the Home Office will again be running the Teenage Relationship Abuse Campaign, aimed at teenagers aged 13-18.

The campaign, which ran previously from February to March 2010, aims to prevent abuse in teen relationships by empowering young people to make the decision to avoid violent and controlling behaviour, encouraging them to recognise abuse, reflect on the consequences of their actions and seek help if required.

Adverts will run on youth digital TV channels, in cinemas during key teen films, in environments such as shopping malls and on youth websites and social media channels. The campaign website hub will give teens the chance to discuss the issues with their peers and get access to third party support and advice.

Abuse in teenage relationships is an important and difficult matter. The Home Office has designed materials to support teachers in dealing with these issues which are available from the Home Office website.

Copies of campaign materials will be available to order from the Home Office Publications order line 0870 241 4680 from the beginning of August.
