The UKCCIS Summit 2011 was held on 14 June 2011. Over 170 delegates, representing all sectors of UKCCIS membership attended for a thought-provoking reflection on UKCCIS progress so far and to refocus their thinking on how to advance the child internet safety agenda.

The growth of digital media has revolutionised children's lives. Whether or not adults are keeping up with them, children are learning new skills, finding information, and developing relationships and networks online. As technology advances and children find new and innovative ways to use it, the UK Council for Child Internet Safety continues working to keep children safe online - wherever they are.

Recognising that some Council members have been active in the field for many years, whilst others are new to the agenda, the 2011 Summit offered everyone a chance to gain fresh perspectives and make new connections.
This Summit was a unique opportunity to come together as a committed and diverse group of professionals to challenge each other and refocus our thoughts on which child safety strategies can have the most impact.
