Early support logo

Focused on putting the principles of Early Support into practice, these courses promote an integrated and holistic approach to inclusion and children's rights; ensuring the delivery of culturally sensitive, appropriate, fair and equitable services for young disabled children and their families.

Who is it for?

Suitable for practitioners, service managers and parents or carers of disabled children, there is an in-depth accredited course and a two-day non-accredited course

How will participants benefit?

The courses take participants through a range of activities to help them work more effectively in the Early Support context; use the Early Support materials to their full potential; and explore the processes of change and adaptation that families with a disabled child have to go through.

  • The accredited course consists of three days of training, plus distance learning and assessment. It aims to help participants go further in their understanding of the Early Support principles and enhance the skills needed to make partnership working more effective. Parents and carers will also gain a better understanding of 'the system' and increase their confidence in working within it.
  • The non-accredited two-day course is similar in aims and content to the accredited course, but is shorter, less in-depth and does not have distance learning or assessment.

Detailed course descriptions and a range of pre-reading materials are available to download from this page.
