Summary
As part of a renewed focus on children in care the Department has today published new Children in Care and Adoption Performance Tables. These show, against 15 indicators, how each local authority is performing. The data we have used is already available but we'll be updating the tables as new data becomes available. We will also be talking to local authorities and other partners about how the tables can be developed and extended. The publication of the tables is intended to generate more transparency about what is actually happening, strengthen accountability and help drive improvement through local debate and action.
