Positive for Youth: A new approach to cross-government policy for young people aged 13 to 19 has been written primarily for providers and funders of services for young people. It provides comprehensive detail on all the Government's policies for young people aged 13 to 19 within a vision for how everyone can work together to help them succeed.

Additional short notes are available in the associated resources section below to illustrate what Positive for Youth means for four key groups:

  • Local authorities: who have a particular strategic role to play in co-ordinating local partners' efforts and resources to improve outcomes for young people.
  • Voluntary organisations: who already play a significant role in the lives of many young people, and who the Government wants to play a greater role in delivering public services.
  • Businesses: who have a significant contribution to make to help young people succeed and who the Government wants to take greater responsibility for doing so.
  • Young people: who have their own role to play in realising the Positive for Youth vision, particularly through making their voice heard in decisions about local services.
