On 9 May 2012, the Department published a consultation on extending the age range of the duty on schools to secure access to independent careers guidance from September 2013.
The duty was introduced in September 2012 and currently applies to pupils in years 9 to 11. The report of this consultation has now been published.
The report outlines the Government’s decision to extend access to independent and impartial careers guidance to year 8 pupils and to 16- to 18-year-olds in schools and colleges.
