Local authorities (LAs) can now access the November 2012 release of 16-19 FE data and management information (MI) pivot tables on the Information Management (IM) portal.

The purpose is to update LAs' overview of provision to assist in making longer-term strategic decisions about what is on offer to young people aged 16 to 19 (up to 24 for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities) in their area. This update includes data received between March 2012 and October 2012. As there is no new information available to us on the schools and academy sector, we have not refreshed the data produced in June 2012.

Each LA will receive:

  • a  further education (FE) pivot table for the LA. This contains an update to include 2011/12 full-year ILR data (as at September 2012). This will enable users to conduct further analysis for your LA, eg. Travel to Learn;
  • a Young People's Matched Administrative Data pivot table;
  • a regional FE pivot table, available on request.

A user guide is also available to support the November release.

Institutions and LAs can continue to access the June release of 16-19 data and MI reports on the IM portal. An LA has access to:

  • a 16-19 data and MI PDF report for each FE provider, school sixth form (SSF) and academy (SSF) in their area;
  • a data and MI PDF report for residents aged 16 to 19 in the LA;
  • a SSF pivot table for each LA;
  • an FE Qualification and Success Rate (QSR) pivot table.

Each institution has a PDF report for their institution. This is the same report that LAs can view.

A user guide and FAQs are available to support the release.
