Local authorities (LAs) can now access the June 2013 release of 16 to 18 further education (FE) data and management information (MI) pivot tables on the Information Management (IM) portal.
The purpose is to update LAs' overview of provision. This includes data received up to February 2013 for FE and October 2012 for schools.
Each LA will receive:
a 16 to18 data and MI report for each institution receiving funding from the Education Funding Agency (EFA) under the ‘schools, academies and free schools’, ‘further education’, ‘commercial and charitable providers (CPPs)’, and ‘higher education’ programmes
a 16 to18 data and MI report for residents in the LA that collates data from these same funding programmes. To present an inclusive analysis of 16 to 18 activity and 0 to 24 high needs students element 2 (HNS) provision within each local authority area. Individualised learner record (ILR) data for FE and schools census data for learner responsive provision are included within these reports. For HNS this excludes institutions who are funded outside the post-16 funding formula. This will mean the numbers included within these reports for HNS are likely to be lower than those included in the EFA/LA discussions as part of the 2013 to 2014 academic year allocations process. Institutions not included in this report that would have been part of this process include:
independent specialist providers (ISPs)
maintained special school sixth-forms
special academy sixth-form
Independent non-maintained special school sixth-form
LAs should not consider this an issue with respect to HNS as these reports are designed to support the mainstream formula funded EFA provision.
a separate EFA funded pivot table for the LA. This contains more data than the reports and enables you to conduct further analysis for your LA
A user guide is also available to support this June 2013 release.
