Family Foundations

Family Foundations is for mothers and fathers who are living together and expecting their first child. Couples attend five weekly group sessions during the last three months of the mother’s pregnancy where they learn how to support each other as parents when the baby arrives. Couples return for four more weekly sessions six months after the baby is born, when they learn strategies about how to communicate effectively as parents and support their child’s development.

Family Foundations has promising evidence of improving parent communication and child self-regulatory skills three years after parents complete the programme.
