How to search for examinations by subject


  1. Go to the Search page and enter a Session/Year, qualification type and awarding body in the text box provided.
  2. Click on the Show All Available Subjects. You will then see a screen with alphabetic buttons. Use these to enter the first letter of the exam subject you're interested in (eg, A for Art History).
  3. You can also use the All button to find all the subjects that fall within your search parameters.
  4. You will then see a results screen that lists all the subjects that the application has found.
  5. If you want to search again using different terms, click on Change my search parameters.

How to search for examinations by exam code


  1. Go to the Search page and enter all or part of the code for the exam you are looking for in the text box provided.
  2. Click the Search by code button.
  3. You will then see a results screen for the exam code you entered.
  4. To search again using under a different exam code, click on Redefine current search.

How to use the Advanced Search screen


  1. Go to the Advanced Search page.
  2. Use the tick boxes to specify the session, qualification type and awarding body.
  3. You can also use the Select by date range button to specify a range of exam dates.
  4. Use the alphabetic buttons to select the first letter of the subject you're interested in (eg, A for Art History). You can also use the Show all subjects tick box to show all the exam subjects that fall within your search terms.
  5. Click on Show search results.
  6. You will then see a search results page. If you want to search again using different search terms, click on Redefine current search.

What is My Timetable and how does it work?


  1. My Timetable refers to the search results that you have saved using 'Add Results or Selections to My Timetable'. If you have cookies enabled on your machine, you will be able to save your My Timetable page while you remain logged in to the website. When you leave the website, your My Timetable page will disappear and you will need to create a new one.

What are cookies and how do I enable them?


  1. A cookie is a small file that a website transfers to your computer. Our website sends cookies that are stored by your computer's browser software (eg, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc). This means that as long as you keep using the same browser at the same computer, our website will save the progress that you have made in creating My Timetable.
    However, if you access the site using a different web browser or a different computer, you will not be able to access any of your saved data.
    To enable or disable cookies, you will need to change the privacy or security settings of your browser software. In most browsers, you will find these settings in a menu called Tools or Preferences. If you are not sure how to enable and disable cookies, look up 'cookies' in the Help section of your web browser.

How to add exams to My Timetable


  1. After completing a search, select the exams you want to add to My Timetable by checking the tick box next to its name.
  2. Click on Add selections to My Timetable.
  3. You can also add all the exams in the search results by clicking Add all results to My Timetable.

How to print My Timetable and search results


  1. In the Search Results page, or on the My Timetable page, click on Print all results. If you do not automatically see a print dialogue box, please use the usual print function in your web browser.
  2. To return to the search results, click on Close print view.

How to export My Timetable and search results as a .csv or XML file


  1. On the My Timetable page - and on the results page from using Search or Advanced Search - you can export your data as a .csv or .xml file. You can then import these files into wide range of database and spreadsheet applications.
  2. On the My Timetable page - or on any search results page - click on Export all results.
  3. Select either Export to CSV or Export to XML and save the file to your computer.
  4. To return to My Timetable or the search results page, click on Close export view.

How to import the .csv file into Microsoft® Excel


  1. Select File, and Open.
  2. In the Open dialogue box, set Files of type to All Files (*.*).
  3. Locate the file timetable.csv on you local drive and select it.
  4. Click on Open.

How to open the .csv file as an external data source


  1. Select File, and New.
  2. Select Data, then Import external data, then Import data.
  3. In the Select data source dialogue box, set Files of type to All Files (*.*).
  4. Locate the file timetable.csv on you local drive and select it, then press the Open button.
  5. You will now see the Text Import Wizard.
  6. At the top of this set the Original data type to Delimited and click the Next button.
  7. In the Delimiters section check the Comma checkbox, then press the Finish button.
  8. You might then be asked where you want to put the data. By default it will be the cell in the worksheet you have open. If this is where you want it, press OK.

How to clear My Timetable


  1. Go to the My Timetable page.
  2. Click the Clear all button.
  3. Confirm that you want to clear all results.

How to use the Recent Updates page


  1. You can use this page to find out whether an awarding body has changed the details of their examinations. This is particularly useful if you have previously printed out the details of an examination. If the Recent Updates page indicates that the details of that examination have changed, you can use the Search facility to display the current details and cross-check these against the details that you printed out previously.
