I am a school user and don't know my login or password.
As an establishment user your login is URN_HT (e.g. if your URN is 999999, your login will be 999999_HT).
To reset your password go to the login page and select “I’ve forgotten my password” enter your username (URN_HT) or the email address registered to your account. An email will be sent automatically to that email address.
If you do not know or do not have access to the registered email account please complete a service request form using the link from the left hand menu. Please complete as much information as possible, the contact email address should be from the official email account for the school and not a personal or google/hotmail/AOL account.
How do I update my school details on EduBase?
All schools that are registered on EduBase can update their school details by logging into their account. If you do not know your login or password please see the relevant FAQ on how to receive these.
Select the “Login” link from the left hand menu and enter your username and password.
Once logged in select ‘My Establishment Record’ from the left hand menu and your establishment details will be displayed.
To edit your details select ‘Edit Record’ which will show the fields in an editable mode. Note that the summary page is made up of values from other tabs so cannot be edited directly.
Once you have made your changes click ‘Apply’ and ‘Save’ on the confirmation page. If the changes are not reflected immediately on the web site they have been sent to the relevant team at the Department for Education to be approved. You will be notified by email when the change has been approved.
Certain fields such as census data cannot be edited via EduBase.
How do I search for an Establishment?
You can search for an establishment using one of the three options that EduBase gives:
1. The quick search.
2. The advanced search.
3. The filters functionality (accessible only to users with a login).

I am having a problem, what should I do?
There may be an answer already in the help documentation. On most pages there is a help box at the top of the page. Click on it to expand.
There are a number of FAQ’s which may also assist in any queries you have.
In addition, under the help page (accessible from the left hand side menu) you can download the user guide and step-by-step guides for some of the system features (if available to you).
If all else fails please complete a service request form by selecting the “Service Request/Feedback” link from the left hand menu.

The Establishment I am looking for is not on EduBase!
EduBase holds details of establishments which provide compulsory, higher and further education. It does not hold details of early years providers or independent training providers.
Sometimes, the establishment is on EduBase, but your search is not picking it up.
If an establishment is closed it will not show up on the quick search. Please use the ‘Advanced search’ page and select ‘Closed’ and ‘Proposed to Open’.
Here are some ways to improve the chances of a successful search:
Try filling in less fields, for instance, leave the locality blank when searching by school name, just choose the Local Authority.
Try using just part of an Establishment’s name when searching, their recorded name may be slightly different to their commonly used name.
Use the first half of the establishment’s postcode.
Search by DfE (LA/Establishment) number or URN at the bottom of the ‘Advanced Search’ page.
