Non-Maintained Special School

Category: Type of Establishment. Non-Maintained Special schools are special schools approved by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills. They are run on a not-for-profit basis by charitable trusts and normally cater for children with severe and/or low incidence special educational needs. They get the majority of their funding from local authorities placing children with special educational needs statements at the schools and paying the fees.

Nursery

Category: Phase of Education. Nursery schools provide education for children under the age of 5 and over the age of 2.
