Most of the information for schools and children’s services professionals will move from this website to the GOV.UK website at the end of March 2014. Information published by the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) and the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) will move to GOV.UK at a later date, so will remain on www.education.gov.uk after March.
GOV.UK will become the single location for all online government information. It has been designed to make things simpler, clearer and faster.
All government departments, agencies and arms-length bodies are moving their websites, which will make it easier for you to find information that government publishes. GOV.UK replaced the Directgov and Business Link websites in October 2012.
We have already moved some of our information over - we now publish all news, speeches, publications, transparency information and other corporate content on GOV.UK. We have our own Department for Education homepage on GOV.UK, where you can access this information, and you can also sign up to receive email or RSS alerts when we publish new material. All information for parents can already be found on GOV.UK, in the education and learning or having a child, parenting and adoption sections.
We have reviewed all material on the DfE website and rewritten it to make it shorter, clearer and easier to understand. We have archived content that is no longer current.
