Earlier this week, Minister for Young People Tim Loughton visited the Station in Bristol City Centre which recently received confirmation of £5m funding from the Department. This is a myplace project to convert the old fire station into a world class facility for young people in the South West.

The Station will include music and radio studios, a theatre and dance studio, cafe and a range of support services.

Tim Loughton said:

I hope the Station will become a showcase for the young people of Bristol and give a positive message about the many creative things they are doing.  It will also provide the chance to access a number of services in one place offering advice on qualifications, sexual health, setting up a business and more.

It is important that facilities like the Station are established with a sustainable future and I hope people from across Bristol and not just the young will come in and get involved.
