Future Leaders

Every child has potential. Could you make a lasting difference to the lives of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds by becoming an outstanding leader for a challenging school?
We’re looking for current and former teachers with the potential and commitment to progress to headship in schools in challenging contexts within four years on this intensive, three-year programme.
Who can apply?
You must have the desire to lead a school in a challenging context and have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You must also have at least two years management experience and provide evidence of making a positive impact on your school or organisation during this time. Find out more.
What's involved?
An initial training course, including 17 days of residential training; a one year residency in a school under the apprencticeship of a successful headteacher and an in-school mentor. You will either remain in your current school if it meets our criteria, or take a placement in a challenging school. Find out more.

Three years.
Cost
There is no cost to the programme, and you will be paid at your current salary up to a recommended salary cap of £50,000, for your first year of school residency.
