Mapping Children and Young People's Participation in England Research Information

DescriptionThe National Youth Agency (NYA) and the British Youth Council (BYC) surveyed statutory and voluntary sector organisations in England between November 2003 and January 2004, in order to establish a systematic picture of the levels and ways in which they involve children and young people up to 19 in public decision-making. Public decision-making was defined as children and young peoples involvement in decisions about policies and services which may affect them but which are not specific to them as individuals.
