DCSF: Pupil Absence in Schools in England: Autumn Term 2008 and Spring Term 2009

DescriptionThis Statistical First Release (SFR) reports on absence in maintained primary and secondary schools, city technology colleges and academies across the autumn term 2008 and spring term 2009. It is based on pupil level absence data collected via the School Census for the two terms combined. The release provides information on the levels of absence (authorised, unauthorised and overall) by type of school, summary statistics on persistent absentees and absence by reason.

National findings are presented in the SFR. Information on Government Office Region and Local Authority level will also be available.
