| Description | This is an annual SFR. It will provide the first release of provisional January 2010 School Workforce data. It will include standard tables for January 2000 to 2010 on:
Publication is later this year due to the need to combine data from those local authorities using the existing 618g survey with those proving information via the new School Workforce Census, (SWF). 83 of the 152 local authorities have provided full information in this new format. Due to the changes in the data collection method a later submission deadline was set and the revised publication date follows from that. Please see the notes to editors in the publication for further information on the introduction of the SWF. Additional local authority level tables were added on 29 September covering teacher, teaching assistant and other support staff numbers, Pupil to Teacher and Pupil to Adult Ratios, (PTR and PAR), and teacher ethnicity. Local Authority tables covering teacher vacancies and teacher sickness absence are not included for data quality reasons (see paragraphs 10 to 18 in the Notes to Editors section of the Statistical First Release). The existing national level tables for the overall school workforce, support staff and PTR/PAR were also revised. Other tables remain provisional. Additional tables were added 21 October covering Teacher Flows, Teachers in Service, Teachers' Pay, Retirements and Out of Service Teachers Aged under 60. | ||
