DCSF: Effectiveness of child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) services
| Description | The National Indicator "Effectiveness of CAMHS" is a measure of key aspects of service provision that should be in place locally to effectively meet the needs of children and young people with mental health problems. It is a key measure within PSA 12 Child Health and Wellbeing and forms part of the National Indicator Set for local authorities (NI51) and the Vital Signs indicator set for PCTs (VSB12). This is a new indicator to measure annual performance at LA, GO region and National level - NI 51 in the National Indicator Set. The returns are made annually by LAs to CAMHS Mapping, and then provided to DCSF. PCT returns via Vital Signs are made quarterly. This is first statistical release giving the baseline for the NI 51 indicator, for services as at 31 December 2008. The indicator measures Local Authorities' self-assessment across the country against four questions, each with a 1-4 rating. This generates a total possible score of 16. | ||
