DCSF: Special Educational Needs: statements issued within 26 weeks in 2008-09
| Description | This is a new publication that presents national and LA level figures from 2008-09 for National Indicator 103. This indicator has two separate elements;
- The number of final statements of special educational needs issued within 26 weeks excluding exception cases as a proportion of all such statements issued in the year.
- The number of final statements of special educational needs issued within 26 weeks as a proportion of all such statements issued in the year.
Key points:
- This publication provides, for the first time, national and LA figures for both parts of this indicator
- On indicator 103A, 91 per cent of final statements of special educational needs in England in 2008-09 were issued within 26 weeks (excluding exception cases). Local performance varied from 54 per cent to 100 per cent.
- On indicator 103B, 82 per cent of final statements in England in 2008-09 were issued within 26 weeks. Local performance varied from 30 per cent to 100 per cent.
