Initial teacher training available places
| Description | This time series shows the number of initial teacher training places allocated for primary and secondary courses (broken down by subject specialism for secondary) from 1990/91 to 2009/10. The places up to and including 2007/08 are for postgraduate and undergraduate initial teacher training at universities and other higher education institutions and for school centred initial teacher training (SCITT), which is mainly postgraduate training that is designed and delivered by a group of schools, but exclude Employment Based ITT (EBITT). Places for 2008/09 onwards include EBITT but exclude Teach First. The places for 2008/09 and beyond were announced by the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) in January 2008. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
