It has been necessary to revise the Statistical First Release as published on 18 December. This problem was traced back to the relevant geographical variable for UA/LAD on the 2007 APS dataset. ONS have now corrected this problem and issued a revised dataset. Revised tables both correcting this problem with the 2007 UA/LAD data and including the 2004 data which had been previously unavailable overwrite the previous tables on Friday 21 November at 9.30am. The revisions were minor and only affected a small minority of UA/LADs. Please note that data for other geographies have not changed.

Youth Cohort Study: The Activities and Experiences of 16 Year Olds: England and Wales 2004
Youth Cohort Study: Activities and Experiences of 17 Year Olds: England and Wales 2005
The SFRs for cohort 12 of the Youth Cohort (YCS) for both 16 year olds and 17 year olds are going to be subject to minor revisions on 29 June 2006. Two errors have been discovered. Firstly, a minor error in the weighting for 16 year olds. The vast majority of percentages will not change, but a small proportion of cells will change by 1 percentage point and a few by 2 percentage points. Secondly there was a small error in the type of establishment for those in full-time education (table D) and there will be small widespread changes on this table. The error in the weighting for 16 year olds has a knock-on effect on the data in the SFR for 17 year olds and therefore this also needs revising. Again the effect is expected to be similar to that of the reweighting for 16 year olds, with the vast majority of percentages not expected to change.
