Multi-page article http://www.education.gov.uk/b0069801/buying/ict/ict-services-framework 2011-11-07T10:04:42 ICT services framework ICT services framework Information explaining how the ICT services framework can help when purchasing ICT. <![CDATA[ The ICT services framework is designed to help in the purchase of ICT and can be used by; <ul> <li> local authorities</li> <li> regional broadband consortia</li> <li> maintained schools</li> <li> Free Schools</li> <li> Academies</li> <li> FE Colleges</li> <li> the skills sector.</li> </ul> The framework agreement comprises two lots: <ul> <li> Lot 1 focuses on infrastructure and mobile connectivity services - enabling customers to buy these services individually or in combination as a bundle.</li> <li> Lot 2 covers the provision of integrated ICT services aimed at supporting those customers who require a framework supplier who can co-ordinate and manage a supply chain effectively to cover all of their requirements.</li> </ul> The ICT services framework operates from November 2010 until November 2014. Schools should identify their ICT equipment or services needs at an early stage so that it is easier to aggregate purchases. Schools can then look to collaborate with other schools with similar needs, where possible, so they are more likely to receive value for money by collating requirements into a single purchase.  You may also wish to consider using the consultancy services framework. This can provide expertise or resources for major or complex ICT purchases - under the ICT services framework - which may be unavailable within the local authority.
