In October 2009 the management of the Department's schools capital programme transferred to Partnerships for Schools (PfS) - a Department Arms Length Body (ALB).

Some of the content on the Schools Capital website pages will contain PfS links and contact details.

On the 7 June 2011 the Secretary of State announced that, from April 2012, PfS will be wound up and its functions transferred to the Department policy directorates and the new Education Funding Agency (EFA) - an executive agency of the Department.

This will bring together in a single agency the allocation and management of revenue and capital funding, including the delivery of capital programmes.
