The funding for the gross areas of new school buildings is based on new formulae.
For secondary schools the new formula is:
1050m² (+ 350m² if there is a sixth form) + 6.3m²/pupil place for 11- to 16-year-olds + 7m²/pupil place for post-16s
For primary schools the new formula is:
350m² + 4.1m²/pupil place.
