We have today announced important news relating to the Priority School Building Programme. Please see the press notice for full details.
Five batches of schools will be delivered via PF2, the government’s new approach to private finance.
These batches contain 46 schools and have a funding requirement of £700 million.
The first batch, Herts, Luton and Reading, will have its bidder day at the end of this month and will be released to the market in June. The other four privately-financed batches will follow within the next year.
Ministers have also announced the allocation of a further £300 million of capital funding in the current spending review period to enable an early start for 27 further schools.
The remaining schools in the programme are intended to be delivered using capital funding, subject to the next spending review settlement. The timetable for the remaining schools in the programme will be announced after the settlement is made in June.
All the above builds on the excellent progress already being made on PSBP in the first 8 capital batches and early private finance batches.
View the list containing the batch information for both the capital and private finance groups of schools confirmed on 10 May 2013.
