Crossing the threshold gives access to the pay scale for post-threshold teachers (this is often called the upper pay scale) to teachers who are on M6.
Threshold assessment in round 11 (2010/11)
Threshold guidance and model request-for-assessment forms suitable for use in round 11 (2010/11) are available here and we recommend their use. Teachers who choose not to do so should still provide all the information requested in the teacher's section of the form.
There is no national deadline for submitting threshold assessment requests, however in order to be eligible for round 11:
- teachers who are covered by the 2006 Performance Management Regulations must submit their requests between 1 September 2010 and 31 October 2011
- teachers employed in England who are not subject to the 2006 Performance Management Regulations must submit their requests between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011
- teachers employed in Wales must submit their requests between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011.
You should liaise with your headteacher or service manager regarding any local arrangement for threshold.
