The School Experience Programme (SEP) gives prospective applicants for initial teacher training (ITT) the opportunity to spend one or more observation days in school to gain an insight into the role and responsibilities of a teacher.

The SEP will target high-quality graduates and undergraduates who are interested in teaching maths, chemistry, physics, modern foreign languages, history, English, geography, computer science or biology and hold, or are predicted, a first class or 2:1 degree. Eligible enquirers will be offered an initial one-day visit. Depending on eligibility and the availability of the host school, they may then be offered up to a further nine days at a time to suit the host school and participant. Schools will be paid to host the visit and the costs of CRB checks will also be paid where applicable.

Please ensure you read the SEP information for schools  and the SEP frequently asked questions  before you register your school’s interest for the SEP.

If you have any queries about the programme, or if you're from a school that wishes to register interest in SEP, please get in touch using the contact details below.
