Practising the tests will give you a clear indication of the standard required to pass the numeracy skills test.

All the numeracy tests have been calibrated statistically against a benchmark test. The pass mark for the benchmark test is currently 63 per cent. As with any multiple set of tests, the tests are not exactly the same difficulty, but are of an equivalent standard. A test with slightly harder questions will have a slightly lower pass mark and a test with slightly easier questions will have a slightly higher pass mark.

The practice tests for numeracy are presented in two formats:

  • fully interactive online tests, including tests with special arrangement entitlements, which will score your answers;
  • non-interactive versions of numeracy practice paper 2 and numeracy practice paper 3, which are intended to help you to practise answering questions and become familiar with navigational features used in the live, computer-based tests.

The online professional skills tests require Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher (Adobe Flash Player is free). Headphones or speakers will also be required.

Please note: A laminated card and a fine non-permanent marker will be provided by the test centre at your live test appointment. No notes or support materials may be taken into the test room.
