Teachers from the independent sector need to hold qualified teacher status (QTS) if they wish to take up a post as a qualified teacher in the maintained sector.
There are a number of routes which assess previous teaching experience. The Teaching Agency will be able to advise on the most suitable route and which teacher training provider to approach.
