LACSEG for 2011/12
On 13 December 2010 the Department announced school funding arrangements for 2011-12.
For academies this meant:
- retaining the replication methodology for calculating academy budgets for a further year;
- developing a simpler and more transparent funding system in the longer term;
- a consultation on school funding was launched in spring 2011, it included proposals for the future of Local Authority Central Spend Equivalent Grant (LACSEG);
- making only minimal and necessary changes to LACSEG in 2011-12.
It should also be noted:
- The Young People's Learning Agency (YPLA) informed academies of the level set in their funding letters
- Her Majesty’s Treasury (HMT) consulted on draft legislation which included clauses to establish a VAT refund scheme for academies - a link to further information on this is provided in the associated resources.
Additional details sent by the Secretary of State to all academies, and the Department to local authorities, schools and academies are also available in the associated resources in this page.
