Free Schools approved to open in 2012 will enter into a Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State. The Funding Agreement provides the framework within which the Free School will operate.

Groups applying to open a 16-19 Free School in 2013 should use the mainstream model Memorandum and Articles of Association to establish an Academy Trust.
