Funding of £38.049 million and £47.206 million for 2011-12 and 2012-13 will continue to be provided to local authorities to support low-income families attend schools further from home than the statutory walking distances. The funding will be paid as a non-ring-fenced grant paid via the Department for Communities and Local Government under the Local Services Support Grant under section 31 of the Local Government Act 2003.
