Alternative provision directory
Alternative provision is commissioned by local authorities and schools for pupils of compulsory school age who cannot attend a mainstream or special school, or who are disengaged from education/at risk of exclusion. This database is an online directory, which allows schools and local authorities to search for providers of alternative provision in England. It does not include providers offering education directly to parents who teach their children at home, home tutors providing help to pupils outside of school hours, or youth work.
IMPORTANT: Inclusion on the directory is not a mark of quality assurance or endorsement by the Department. Please read this important notice before using the directory.
Providers can register by completing an online form.
For enquiries, please complete the online enquiry form or call 020 7340 8314.
