Assessment and reporting arrangements (ARA) and Teacher assessment and reporting arrangements (TARA) contain the statutory information and guidance on all aspects of National Curriculum assessment and reporting for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 phonics screening check and Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. They cover topics such as administering the tests, access arrangements, teacher assessment and reporting pupils' achievements to parents.
The ARAs and TARA are updated every year. The EYFS, Year 1 phonics screening check, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 ARAs will have been sent to schools and local authorities. The Key Stage 3 TARA and all other ARAs can be downloaded from this page.
If you are responsible for assessment and reporting in either the Early Years Foundation Stage, or any of the key stages it is important that you read the appropriate ARA or TARA.
