STA is responsible for monitoring local authority moderation processes.
The requirements and procedures for local authority moderation are outlined in the 2011/12 moderation requirements booklet which can be downloaded from this page. The booklet also identifies key elements of effective practice.
Local authorities will use the planning form which can be downloaded from this page to provide STA with the information it needs to target support where it is needed.
The categorisation form is also available to download from this page. This outlines the categories used to best describe a local authority moderation model and the source of information used to determine this.
