In this section you will find information and further resources to help you prepare for, and pass, the literacy professional skills test for trainee teachers.
As a teacher, it is important that you demonstrate a high level of literacy ability in all areas of work in school. This applies to all teachers, not just those with specific curricular responsibilities for literacy or English and regardless of their chosen phase of education.
You will not be tested on your knowledge of the English national curriculum or on how to teach it. The specification to which the literacy tests are developed is included under associated resources, for information.
