Real Terms Guarantee

Scope note / definition

Under the RTG, the Government was committed to school sixth forms receiving at least the same funding in real terms as in the baseline year of 2000-01, as long as pupil numbers were maintained. This guarantee was first established in 1999 and was phased out by academic year 2008/09.
