The Secretary of State for Education and Skills announced today that she will consult on a change to the law on Parenting Orders. She wants to extend the range of measures to ensure that parents take responsibility for their children’s behaviour at school. I attach a consultation note, which sets out how Parenting Orders are used at present, and how they might be extended. It also sets out other remedies that schools could use where they need to stop violence or abuse from parents, and asks how schools can be supported where they need to use such remedies.
Consultation results, when available, will appear here.
