This document provides examples to show how particular types of questions in the key stage 1 and key stage 2 English grammar, punctuation and spelling tests should be read aloud to a pupil.

It is intended to help schools make sure readers understand what may and may not be read to a pupil in these particular tests and any subject-specific issues that might occur.

Readers should only be used if it is part of the pupil’s normal classroom practice.
